Remote changes with OEM SI license without going to site, staying at office

Dear Sir,

We have OEM SI license. We want to remote changes at our customer site without going to go to site, staying at the office.

We found out in VTScada catalog like this.

Integrators with OEM licenses can securely VPN into a customer's system to fix problems or add functionality without the need to travel to site.

Could you please explain more details about it? Can suggest step by step how to set up this?

Best Regards,
John

Hi John,

You will need to contact the end user's network administrator for credentials and best practices that you can use to establish a secure VPN connection into their network.

Assuming that this application is NOT already installed on your PC, the process is strait forward and described here: https://www.vtscada.com/help/Content/D_RemoteApps/Dev_GetFromServer.htm?Highlight=get%20from%20workstation

A Brief Overview

  1. Remotely connect your PC (with OEM license) to their network.
  2. Start VTScada. Use the menu in the top left of the VAM to select Add New Application.
  3. Choose Advanced and then Next.
  4. Choose Get From Workstation. Next.
  5. Enter the machine name of the Server running the application. Next.
  6. Choose the application. OK.

The application will then load onto your remote PC and will open as a development node for that application. Note, in addition to your OEM development license, you will require a user account with Development privileges in order to make changes.

Then, you can make configuration changes as if you were an onsite server. This includes rolling back previous changes using the built-in Application Version Control. Disconnect when done. (Be sure to test your changes first.) If there are redundant application servers they will update automatically as will Thin Client connections.

Going forward, each time you connect to their network your PC will be a node in their application. You can even make offline changes to this application that will sync the next time you connect.

Be sure to read the whole help file before going forward. If you have any questions, contact your local VTScada sales contact which you can find on the interactive map on this page: https://www.vtscada.com/contact-us/

Or, if you have up-to-date support for your OEM license, reach out to our support team.
Hope that helps!
