I wanted to refresh myself on VTScada, so got the light version installed on a desktop PC that has no connection to the internet. The only connection is to the SCADA server utilizing a static IP address. When I went to assign the Port (TCP/IP) with the address as 127.0.0.1 (loopback) and the port as 501 then created a Modbus Compatible Device Driver set to Address 1 pointed at the TCP/IP port. I was getting a results of -10,xxx. I then ran netstat -an through command and tried a few different ports. I was able to see that tag browser was showing a 0, which is what you want to see. However, the driver is now showing a 517. I went through F1 help files and 517 is saying, "Timed Out Waiting for Response from Remote". What am I missing here ? The picture below is set to exactly how the VTScada Student Guide suggest.
