VTScada Communications with Itron Sentinel Multi-measurement Meter

I was wondering if the following power meter would be able to communicate with VTScada.

Sorry but we don't have a PSEM or QDIP driver however our engineering group can do up a quote to build one for you. It looks like this device used IR to communicate to a reader, if this is the case, how would you imagine the data getting back to a SCADA software?
If possible, I'd suggest looking for a meter capable of Modbus TCP/IP.
