Driver Not Ready for Allen Bradley Compact Logix 5380

Hello,

When trying to setup communications to import tags I am getting an error of "Driver Not Ready".

Also, when I try to set up tags individually, the application is unable to read from the PLC to choose the appropriate I/O.

I have noticed that I am not getting a value next to my driver, but I am getting a zero next to my port. I cannot find a reason for a value being blank when using the help files. The only thing I can gather is that my value of zero for the port means it is seeing my PLC successfully, but I have no idea how to get my driver to work. For additional reference I have used the following port segment paths:

[1,0]
[]

Can anyone provide me any further guidance on this please?

The Driver Not Ready message typically means that VTScada is download or waiting for information from the PLC. As for not seeing the tags and not being able to read values into your addresses, I would suggest two things to start, first, try making the port/segment path property box empty. Second, you can draw the driver information onto a page to get more information about the state of the driver which will hopefully indicate what the issue is.

You can get further diagnostics by using tools like the trace viewer to see what is being sent and received between VTScada and the driver.
