License Transfer

One of our clients that we recently converted from WW (yay!) is going to upgrade servers soon. Wondering what the method is to transfer existing license from one PC/Server to another. The license was just purchased and is still under support. Thanks!

Transferring the license is simple. The following steps should help:

  1. If you want to copy the history, then copy the existing application directory onto the new computer (C:\VTScada\ApplicationName By default)
If you want to start with a fresh historian, just go to the application configuration and make a changeset file of the application.

  2. Uninstall VTScada on the current computer.

  3. Install VTScada on the new computer (You can download the installer at https://www.trihedral.com/download-vtscada )

  4. Add the application to your new computer by using the advanced option in the new application wizard. Either add from a changeset or move the existing application into the VTScada directory and click add from an existing directory. Even if you move to a new version, your application will be automatically updated.

If things go well, your application will appear in the VTScada Application Manager list and you'll be nearly done. If you have Web client connections or third party data sharing, you'll have to configure your VTScada server on the new computer.

I hope this helps.

Hey, Dave. Thanks for the reply. I know how to transfer the application. I need to know how to transfer the license. The servers are on a military base and do not have internet access.
