What I'm looking to do is create a datahost application - https://www.brultech.com/data-host/ for the greeneye using VTS.

If there isn't an existing driver that will do the deed, I am willing to develop one.

It doesn't appear to use a standard comm protocol such as modbus. We do not have a Zigbee driver so, out of the box, we won't be able to communicate with it. So you know if it can handle modbus?

It doesn't, my thoughts to test it out was to use a combination of python libraries to get a modbus connection:

But that seems crazy, and was thinking there may be a configurable ASCII driver that I could try out, or if not, maybe write one.

I am not sure how the Python thing would work. We do not have a vanilla ASCII driver. Most of these devices do not have a configurable ASCII interface and do not deliver the information in a way that works with our standard driver interface.

Writing drivers is not an easy task and is briefly touched on in our advanced courses. Most custom drivers are contracted to our engineering department. You may want to touch base with your marketing rep for more information on going that route.

BTmon can get the data and you can figure out the Python to get it to modbus for VTScada.
