Just looking to setup SMS alarm notifications and wondering if there are any specific cell modems that anyone has had success using for sending alarms AND acknowledging alarms.
This page includes our most up-to-date recommendations for SMS devices as well as other options once these devices become unavailable. VTScada will always support physical voice modem devices, however, modem manufacturers will not.
That link seems to only have references to voice modems for hardwired telephone connections. I'm looking for a device that will support SMS messaging through a SIM card. Do you have any tech notes on what to look for in this application?

Reviving this thread - does anyone have experience with modems other than the listed MultiTech models? We have been experiencing issues with them across a few deployments.
What Multitech and what version of VTScada? When I left, v12.2.22 had a fix for an issue with MultiTech MTCM-L1G2D-B03. There were also a number of fixes for other issues prior to 12.2.22.
If you are on something later than v12.2.22 then I would touch base with Support. They will definitely want more details and diagnostics.
