Is it possible to use VTScada as a PLC-to-PLC gateway,
allowing two or more PLC's to communicate with each other? If so, how can this be configured?

Prob the easiest way to do this would be to use a Slave ModbusDriver for touching tips.

Example: the way a RedLion Data Station would be used for PLC-PLC communication.
Yes, in most cases it would be quite simple to setup.
VTScada makes for a decent I/O gateway but it depends on what you are looking for. We have the following now:
MQTT Pub/Sub
ODBC
OPC-DA (UA Server in progress)
Modbus Server (Master)
REST API (Alarms/Events/Tags/Historian

Using any software that runs on a Windows pc as a gateway isn’t the best practice. That being said, I’ve seen it done in a pinch.
consider using a device from RTA or Prosoft or Red Lion.
