I would like to get advice from VTScada experts regarding which programming language would be most beneficial to learn before studying VTScada scripting.

Would knowledge of C++, or another language, be helpful as a foundation?

If you are not yet skilled in a language, like I was... and you want to learn to script in VTScada, I'd start by learning VTScada script - there is lots of good examples and information in the Help files - and its structured in a decent way that you can work your way through it - if you have the time...
