Are Trigger Tags not functional in the Light version? I am trying to set a trigger to compile a daily report, and the trigger tag value is not wanting to change.

There should be no issue with trigger tags in the light version. Make sure the Off conditions is set. Do not use a schedule. I would set it to turn off after 2 or 3 seconds. And be sure the on condition is some point in the future. It will not activate if you set it for a past date or time.

Thanks! I was able to get this to work on another machine. Must be something with the installation on this virutal machine. Maybe related to the system time not being synced.

It will trigger based on the time on the server, not necessarily the time of the workstation. If the workstation and the server are not sync'd, that could definitely be an issue.
