Windows Service detection?

I'd like to setup an alarm to go off when a specified windows service is not running.

Hmm... PowerShell script and dump the status into a text file? You can also write a PowerShell script to just restart the service if it is off.

Cleanest way might be a Node.js script, run a web server which provides the value and and use the XML driver to reference it.
