I was trying to install VTScada lite earlier today, and ran into the following message "The program can't start because api-ms-win-downlevel-kernel32-I2-1-0.dll is missing from your computer, try reinstalling the program to fix this problem".

I made sure the computer was current on its windows updates, and tried to reinstall, and I ran into the same issue. The computer is running Windows 7 Pro 32 bit. Has anyone run into this issue before, or know how to fix it?

A quick search shows this as a Windows error after installing software with certain dependencies. Luckily the solution may be a simple fix.

That said, the current VTScada installer is not listed as compatible with Windows 7 so it may be that this library is not included with Windows 7.
