Alarm Acknowledgement

In VTscada, is there a way to link a tag to an alarm acknowledgement button in the alarm window that can turn on or off a tag in the PLC?

Thanks.

We use two additional tags for every alarm to manage this.

An Alarm List tag to monitor a filtered alarm list transitioning from 1 to 0 alarms, and an IO tag which writes to a handshake bit that monitors the Alarm List tag, unlatching the alarm in the PLC.

Got this to work using your technique, thanks, very helpful!

New to VTScada and looking to add this functionality to our system. I've added an Alarm Status tag with a filter and can see it transition from 1 to 0 when the filtered alarm is acknowledged.

Not sure how to setup the IO tag to monitor the alarm status tag and set the PLC ack bit when the Alarm Status tag changes from 1 to 0.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

VTScada has added a new built-in tag for PLC alarms called the 'PLC Alarm Tag'. While I'm not sure if it will meet your needs here, I thought it might be helpful. You can read about the tag type using the link below:

I need to do this in my application but I can't find "alarm list tag" in any of the tag types. They have Alarm, Alarm Database, Alarm Priority & Alarm Status. They don't have an "Alarm List" as a tag type.

@mike_yung - I believe the tag being noted is called the 'Alarm Status' tag.

I should also add here that there is currently a 'PLC Alarm' tag that works natively with most AB standard alarm blocks and can be configured to work with custom blocks.

Here are some resource links:
