Locking out Windows

Here is a question I fielded recently:

"How can we prevent SCADA operators from accessing the Windows® Operation System of a PC running a VTScada application?"

Answer:

This is a two-part process:

1) Disable the VTScada Applications Manager (VAM) and lock the application's Display Manager in full screen.
From the VTScada Help System:
https://www.trihedral.com/help/Content/D_Customize/Dev_HideTheVam.htm?Highlight=hide%20VAM
https://www.trihedral.com/help/Content/p_Properties/DispMgrFullScreen.htm?Highlight=fullscreen

2) Disabling access to Windows (e.g., disabling the Windows button) is done outside of VTScada using Windows Administration Settings. This needs to be done by a Windows Administrator using Group Policies for Active Directory. This works differently on different OS versions.
